Homemade Wind Generators

Homemade wind generators, or wind turbines, is not some futuristic device that you only get to read about in magazines or online. With the realistic building costs, and the huge amount of money that can be saved by building your own renewable energy devices, there's no reason that virtually everyone shouldn't have their own solar panels, and/or wind turbines.

Granted, if you call a contractor and have them come to your home and give you a quote on a commercial wind turbine system, you're going to be floored by the figure. A complete wind turbine that will generate a large part, or all of the electricity for just an average sized single family home is staggering. Probably most people would have to take out a second mortgage to pay for it.

However, there is a different, probably better (for most) solution. Build your own wind turbine. If you've not researched the possibilities before, you're probably not thinking this is a feasible option. Well, that couldn't be farther from the truth. To build, and install a complete system that is comparable to a professionally designed and installed system might not be possible for the average homeowner, but we're going for cheap here, not necessarily professional.

With a complete professional installation costing many tens of thousands of dollars, a few hundred, even less than two hundred, is a very attractive number. If you're thinking it can't be done for that, you're mistaken. Although, the least expensive, homebrew wind turbine won't generate enough electricity to allow you to instantly go off-grid, it is a great start.

By utilizing simple hand-tools and commonly available parts and supplies, anyone can construct homemade wind generators. If you've got a little room, and you're in a decent zone that has ample wind, you can add a few homemade wind generators as time (and money) allow, and eventually convert enough wind to electricity to satisfy your goal without going into debt for the next twenty years. There's nothing like watching you own homemade wind generators spinning in the breeze, saving you big money as they go.

If you haven't yet seen the excellent information available on building your own solar panels and homemade wind generators, heard over to RenewableSolarAndWindEnergy.com. There's an excellent resource there that has a complete guide (with videos) that shows you step-by-step, how to build your own money-saving devices.

A wind turbine or solar panel can be built in just a few hours, and installed easily without haviing to bring in heavy equipment like is sometimes necessary when installing huge commercial wind turbine that needs a sizeable tower. The homemade wind generators can be installed on a light-weight tower, or even on a short, roof-mounted tower or home-brew installation. I've even seen them installed on a small, light, very cheap metal fence post.

Why just keep looking and wishing when these renewable energy sources are available to everyone, even those on the most limited budget. The money you'll save will pay for the installation in a very short time.
